Avoriaz is on the main lift circuit of the Portes du Soleil, with links to Châtel in one direction and to Champéry in Switzerland in the other. It is linked by gondola to Morzine, which shares a separate area of slopes with Les Gets. All four of these linked resorts are covered by the Portes du Soleil pass.
The small hamlets of Ardent and Les Prodains are on the outskirts of the Avoriaz ski area with lifts into it.
Avoriaz is a compact resort which works well. In the majority of accommodations you can ski from close to the door, and no door is more than 500m from the central shops and bars. The village is elevated giving amazing balcony views across Morzine. From the high points there are great views of the Dents Blanches and the Dents du Midi.
